World's Greenest Homes: Boston
This house offers a really unique concept. It features a 2000 sq ft home spread out over 4 floors. It was originally designed as a storefront on the bottom with living space on the other floors. The family who purchased the house redesigned it to have a home office on the bottom floor and continued with the design throughout the house.
I was really impressed with the renovations this family did on the place. I can imagine all the white must be difficult to clean but it really portrays a modern image. Also, I'm not too sure about the staircase. There is almost too much of a chance of falling down. However, they do incorporate similar ideas found in the cooling tower from the Green Home in Arizona. Overall, it is a really neat concept.
I wonder what kind of green tax credits they took advantage of in Massachusetts.
Finally, if you're looking for your next energy efficient home, visit Ottawa Moves. There is a great selection of Green Home options available.
