Planning Your Retirement: Part II
In this video, Ben Stein explains the value of Index Funds.
In case you don't know, an Index Fund is almost like investing in the entire stock market or ... at least part of the stock market. The idea is that if you spread your money out overall several stocks, you will reduce the risk. Inevitably, some stocks will fail and some will succeed. So, instead of trying to throw darts at a board and pick stocks by yourself, you're essentially investing in the entire market. So, if the market has a good year and goes up by a certain percentage, your portfolio will most likely grow at the same rate.
However, if stocks and bonds really isn't your thing, don't worry. Real Estate almost always appreciates at a constant rate as well and can be a great investment opportunity. Visit Ottawa Moves for some great information on how to get started with your next Real Estate sale or purchase.
